Glasovi koji govore o radu, braku, razvodu, identitetu, borbi za pravdu, samostalnost i opstanku. Dokumenti predstavljeni na ovim panoima - senedi, domovnice, ilmihaberi, potvrde o najmu, molbe, bračne bilješke, prijave i zahtjevi - otvaraju prozor u svakodnevnicu koja je oblikovala živote žena u Sarajevu od XVIII do početka XX vijeka. Kroz njih saznajemo o Hatidži koja je služila u tuđoj kući, o Pašani koja stiče punoljetnost, o Merjemi koja kao razvedena žena traži potvrdu o svom statusu, o Umihani i Fatimi koje mole za slobodu svojih muževa, o Zibi koja traži isplatu svog vjenčanog dara mehra. Ovi dokumenti, pisani na osmansko-turskom, arapskom i bosanskom jeziku pokazuju koliko je pravni, društveni i svakodnevni život žena bio kompleksan i višeslojan. U njima se ogleda i utjecaj šerijatskog prava, lokalnih običaja, ali i promjene koje donosi austrougarska uprava. Kroz administartivni jezik pojavljuju se lične borbe, emocije i potrebe koje nadilaze vrijeme u kojem su nastale. Ističe se visok nivo nepismenosti (preko 80% 1921. godine) i nedostatak visokoškolskih ustanova sve do 1937. godine, kada se osniva Viša islamska šerijatska škola, a 1940. i Poljoprivredni fakultet u Sarajevu. Glavni izazov bio je visok procenat nepismenosti, te je nova vlast sistemski radila na stvaranju uslova za sveobuhvatno školovanje. Ključne reforme uključivale su zabranu rada svih škola s nacionalnim i vjerskim karakterom (1949), što je dovelo do prestanka rada Behram-begove medrese (1949) i mekteba (1953). U decembru 1949. uvedeno je obavezno osmogodišnje obrazovanje.
